I had a lap/hyst last year and like the other responders, it was covered based

on my

insurance plan's guidelines. My plan is 80/20 so we paid the 20% which amounted

to

a few hundred dollars (maybe 2-300....I don't remember exactly).

I am BU so I didn't have the resection but the RE who performed the procedure

did

use the diagnostic code " birth defect " or " congenital anomoly " to differentiate

it

from infertility & insurance covered their part.

I asked for estimates before the procedure from the staff and my insurance

company.

When the bill did come, I wasn't shocked.
