I don't post here often, but my situation is quite similar to Jen's.

I also had what looked like a BU. For years, I had unexplained

spotting and went dr to dr and had several u/s until I met my current

OB who did a u/s in his office and recognized the MA. I was scheduled

for a lap/hyst not too longer after. Also like Jen, my septum was

wide and almost to the cervix. I didn't take any hormones after and

follow-up testing shows a uterus that looks very normal. I am now 19

weeks pregnant and after having a very early m/c pre-surgery I

definitely don't regret my decision. My only problem with the surgery

and this was not directly related the anesthesiologist had a hard

time finding a good vein and must have hit a nerve and part of my arm

was numb for a few months. A small price to pay for finally

progressing this far in a pregnancy. My surgery was actually

performed by my OB and not a RE. But my OB had done the surgery many

times and after so many bad diagnoses in the past, I felt very

comfortable with him. I did meet with an RE later in the TTC journey,

after finding out DH had issues that may require IVF. The RE actually

did another lap/hyst to seal off a bad tube and check out the cavity

again. RE commented that my OB did a great job on the septum and only

a very small amount was left. Luckily we got PG on our own just prior

to starting our 1st IVF cycle. So I guess my feelings is that

benefits outweighed the risks for me.

Also I did have a bleeding episode and constant spotting throughout

the 1st trimester, but everything has been good so far in the 2nd.
