Guest guest
<< Subject: septate uterus I am 21 years old, and we have been ttc for over a year, resulting in 2 miscarriages. I have known that i had a " heart shaped uterus " sense i was 14 and i was always told it was no big deal. now after 2 miscarriages they are telling me i need surgery on not only a heart shaped uterus but a septate(which i always thought were the same thing). I am terrified but i know i don't have many other options but surgery or keep tring. I have my surgery scheduled for aug 1. I was just wondering how long should we wait befor ttc again. I have heard anywhere from 1 regular period to 6 months....... when can we try again?>> Dear Meg, If you're having the garden-variety hysteroscopic resection, you'll only need to wait 2 cycles, or 8-10 weeks. Sometimes surgeons advise only one cycle, although evidence shows that the uterus is not done healing by then. 6 months is reserved for those who have surgery done through the abdominal wall, and that's pretty uncommon. Good luck with surgery, healing and everything! Beth SU resected x 2 Teddy 12/3/
