Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm finally getting around to posting here after finally getting a diagnosis of septate (possibly subseptate) uterus. It was first noticed on an u/s with my second miscarriage in July, and since then I've had an HSG (which the radiologist said did not show a septum), consulted with an RE who did see a septum in the HSG, and had a 3D u/s which showed a septum. I've seen the HSG images myself and my septum is more subseptate like, with a wide, broad triangle. I have surgery scheduled for 12/13, and a pre-operative consultation on 12/5. My RE is not doing my surgery but one of his partners is; when I inquired about whether it would be a lap/hyst my RE said that " he's done so many of these that they generally don't do a lap " and that his partner has even done more than he has. I'm wondering though, if there is any reason to push for the lap? I know about the potential to perforate the uterus but was hoping that there might be some other examples or relevant material that I could research prior to my pre-op appointment that might help to make the case, if it should be the route I want. Everyone around me is saying the less-invasive the better, but I want to make sure that I'm getting the proper procedure, not just the one that will allow me to heal more quickly. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Priano
