Guest guest
< > , Many of us, after resection or having a baby (which both produce wounded endometrium), can restart bleeding after exertion. Lots of women have renewed fresh, red lochia even weeks after giving birth just from walking up and down stairs doing more housework than usual. The usual advice when that happens is to slow down. With resection, the pool of experience is smaller, but I'm sure something similar to your story has happened, though probably not quite so dramatically. And may I say that I felt exhausted just reading that you ran 5 miles at a pop? (I am a creampuff--I freely admit it :-) The uterine lining takes 8-10 weeks to return to normal. The normal healing response is an inflammatory one, and it seems logical that bleeding is more easily provoked--much as a picked scab bleeds easily. your doctor's theory about bulked-up endometrium also sounds very plausible. In any case, I think your body is sending you a message. The normal pattern after resection is for bleeding to be watery and last a day or three, followed by two weeks of clear or yellowish serous drainage. I had estrogen after my first resection, and when my menses returned, the flow was *incredibly* copious! Take it easier, now!
