Hi - My name is Jen. 3 years ago, I found support here from women

who were experiencing many of the same things I was going though with

my MA diagnosis and recurrent m/c's. I was initially diagnosed with

a BU by my OBGyn after 2 m/c's. Subsequently I became pg and carried

to term (1 week overdue in fact!) I had a c-section and with my

uterus in full view, both OBGyn's in the OR expressed genuine

amazement as they were able to see that my uterus was actually

septate not BU. THey couseled me to have this corrected before

proceeding with any further pg's given the high chance of m/c. I had

a resection preformed this past Jan 05. Surgery and recovery went

well. The odd thing is that we have been tyring to concieve again for

10 months with no success. Conception was never an issue prior to

the surgery. Has anyone had experience with low fertility after

surgery? I am undergoing a full infertility workup now, but don't

see my doctor til mid December. Any thoughts or ideas out there? I

just had a repeat HSG done last week and it appears that there is

still a septum (probably bigger than a remnant), but it is a

significant improvement from before.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/ideas.

Jen

Hi Jen,

I had my surgery last March and I've noticed that I haven't been

having any cervical fluid since then. I must admit that I've been

under a lot of stress since my surgery but still, that's a long time.

I've only started charting my temp again two weeks ago because I

wanted to find out exactly what was going on with my body now that my

husband and I want to TTC. I also did some research to see if there

was anything that I could do to help my body out. I found a lot of

info on the net that didn't seem too solid. I'm just not sure what to

think about the plain cough syrup stories, grapefruit juice, and the

primrose oil. I did read somewhere that drinking lots of water can

help a women to produce the right kind of cervical fluid. I've been

too busy to pay much attention to water and maybe that was one of my

problems. Water can't hurt. I also read that flax (1 tbsp, ground)

was really helpful in keeping hormones balanced. Apparently it's

fantastic for both men and women. Since everyone is singing the

praises of flax right now and there are no negative side effects, I

figured I would give it a try. I haven't ovulated yet this month but

my body has started giving all the signals that it's about to do so

(cervical fluid, etc...). That's a heck of a lot better than I've had

since the surgery. I'm charting dilligently this month. If I don't

get the proper temperature shift, I'm going to go see my surgeon

again. I'm pretty sure that my hormones never got back to normal

after the surgery even though I took estrogen for two weeks.

I've found " Taking Charge of Your Fertility (Revised Edition): The

Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and

Reproductive Health " by Toni Weschler to be really helpful in

understanding how my body works.

Good luck,
