Guest guest
Hi Amber, In the U.S., they do a first ultrasound after about 7 days of stimulation (in your cas Puregon) to see where the follicles are- and then they repeat the ultrasounds as necessary every few days until your eggs are almost peak maturity. Then you typically receive a shot of something to promote the final stage of maturation (ie., HCG) and then have the eggs retrieved an exact # of hours after the shot (i think its 36 but cant quite remember). Thus, Im sure your doctor is just taking the first look after 7 days- and when they schedule the HCG and retrieval totally depends on how fast your eggs mature. Note that very rapid maturation is not necessarily good in terms of egg quality/usability. Many** prayers for lots of good follicles for you. I know how worried you feel, having been through it, but try v. hard to be optimistic and trust the science- and also, be rationale: do you have any data to support the idea that you might not have a good follicular response? (i.e., have you had any abnormal hormonal tests, and if so, which ones?) If you hormonal tests are normal- it is very likely you will respond fine. and the good news is- worst case scenario-if you dont respond to the initial dose of Purgeon they try you on, it is likely you will respond to a higher dose. xo Heidi SU almost 34 wk preg in non resected SU by IVF > > amber > > --- KimberSummers kimbersummers@...> wrote: > > > Amy, and Heidi, thanks so much for your > > support and advice. > > It sure does help to have sounding boards.
