Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am in my 12th week of T3 treatment for a reverse t3 issue (ratio 11). Still no clearance as yet, as far as I can tell, but definite improvement. Pulse often high, temps still a bit low - even just before my period. I will post more on this in another topic. I'm not overly concerned as I am feeling a lot better in many ways. Here are my latest lab results - I have posted the adrenals and female hormones, DHEA and testosterone results in the NTH ADRENALS group. I think my cortisol levels are ok, possibly still a bit too high but they have come down since I have started on T3 and had my implanon contraceptive implant taken out - I will let you know if the adrenals group thinks otherwise. Here are my latest results. Please let me know your opinion or if you think there is anything I need to be changing. My last thyroid function tests, approx 1 month after commencing T3 - 07/JUNE/2010 TSH: <0.05 mU/L (0.40-4.00) free T4: 6 pmol/L (10-20) free T3: 7.2 pmol/L (2.8-6.8) Reverse T3 Result has not come back yet due to being out of the reagent being used for the test. Iron Studies 03/MARCH/2010 Iron: 23 umol/l (10-33) TIBC: 55 umol/L (45-70) Saturation: 42% (16-50) Ferritin: 73 ug/L (15-290) Ferritin 07/JUNE/2010: 107 ug/L (15-290) - without taking any supplements! B12 - 03/MARCH/2010: 306 (162-811) B12 - 07/JUNE/2010: 534 B12 - 07/JULY/2010: 459 pmol/L Obviously my B12 is a major problem and I think it's related to my probably candida overgrowth in the gut/leaky gut (proven by test) and low acid stomach. Low B12 also runs in the family (my Granddad had to get injections for it and Mum has had it). I have been taking a B-Complex called 'Methyl Max' and have doubled it since getting that B12 result back. http://www.bioceuticals.com.au/product.aspx?function=displayproduct&productid=19\ 6 I am considering taking sublingual B12 however, most of them contain the less easily absorbed form of B12 and the Jarrow one is apparently illegal to import to Australia now because it contains xylitol?! Any other suggestions as to what I could do about this? Folate - 03/MARCH/2010: 804 (545-3370) Folate - 07/JUNE/2010: 1085 Folate - 07/JULY/2010: 1087 Taking a supplement for this in the Methyl Max B complex. Homocysyeine - 03/MARCH/2010: 7.5 umol/L (0.0 - 15.0) Vit D - 03/MARCH/2010: 65 nmol/L (50-300) Vit D - 07/JUNE/2010: 140 nmol/L (50-300) - Since taking D3 drops Red Blood Cell Magnesium: 6.6 umol/L Hb (5.2-7.5) - Supplementing with high doses of magnesium then using magnesium oil has helped get this level up, I feel. I have noticed a difference and have felt much better since using the oil. Serum Lithium 11/Dec/2010: 0.8 (0.5-1) - VERY sick with hypothyroidism - forced to go home to Australia from Denmark for treatment. This was taken a few days after my return. Serum Lithium 07/JULY/2010: <0.2 mmol/L (I lowered it by 1 tablet and the level dropped considerably - I worried about getting depressed so went back onto 2 tablets despite the fact my doc thinks I was ok on the 1). Serum Lithium 23/JULY/2010: 0.4 mmol/L (0.5-1) - Doctor thinks I can come off this now. I still take 2x450mg lithium carbonate tablets a day, made by none other than GSK! (I suffered on GSK Eltroxin for 6 months) Electrolytes Sodium: 11/DEC/09 - 139 mmol/L (137-147) 03/MAR/10 - 139 07/JUL/10 - 141 (Since taking 1/4 tsp sea salt twice daily?) Potassium: 11/DEC/09 - 4.4 mmol/L (3.5-5.0) 03/MAR/10 - 4.6 07/JUL/10 - 4.5 Chloride: 11/DEC/09 - 106 mmol/L (96-109) 03/MAR/10 - 102 07/JUL/10 - 106 Bicarb: 11/DEC/09 - 25 mmol/L (25-33) 03/MAR/10 - 28 07/JUL/10 - 24 Albumin: 03/MAR/10 - 43 g/L (35-50) 07/JUL/10 - 40 Phos: 03/MAR/10 - 1.1 mmol/L 07/JUL/10 - Calcium 11/DEC/09 - 2.35 03/MAR/10 - 2.50 07/JUL/10 - 2.25 24/JUL/10 - 2.56 Corrected Calcium 11/DEC/09 - 2.36 03/MAR/10 - 2.49 07/JUL/10 - 2.32 24/JUL/10 - 2.52 11/DEC/2010 Ionized Calcium - 1.29 pH - 7.39 Ionized Calcium (adjusted to pH 7.4) - 1.28 (1.20-1.30) - It was noted that this was high normal. Others tested at least twich - all in normal range: An.Gap, Gluc, Urea, Creat,eGFR, Urate, T.Bili, Alk.P, GGT, ALT, AST, LD, T.Prot,Glob, Chol, Trig except Chol (whatever that is) - it was 3.4mmol/L (3.6-6.7) on 07/JULY/2010 Parathyroid Hormone: 11/DEC/09 - 34 ng/L (14-72) 07/JUL/10 - 12 ng/L (14-72) 24/JUL/10 - 20 ng/L (14-72) I was worried about getting hyperparathyroidism - common for long term lithium users - it seems when I had low lithium levels, the parathyroid hormone dropped right down. Off topic but interesting. Anyways, must go. Please let me know if there is anything I could do or change. Thank you! Alana
