Guest guest
Hello Ladies, I just realized how long it has been since I sent an update, I've been so busy with the school year starting. I've found it very hard to get into a routine but I'm slowly starting to feel like it is all coming together. My pregnancy continues to go very smoothly, and I am still going to the peri every other week for cervical measurements and abdominal u/s. Last week when we were there, the tech that was doing my cervical check had never seen me before and she couldn't find my cervix. Then, when she did finally find it she had a worrisome look on her face but wasn't saying anything so I asked her if anything was wrong. She said it looked my my cervix had shortened considerably to just under 3cm. Needless to say, DH and I were very nervous!!! Then, the tech said, " I don't think this is right, let me call in the doctor. " When the doctor came in, she immediately told the tech that she wasn't looking in the right spot and was only measuring a tiny portion of my cervix. The doctor moved the probe and measured the whole cervix. She just smiled and said, " No change in your cervical measurement! " My cervix continues to measure >4cm!!! So, DH and I breathed a huge sigh of relief! The baby now weighs over a pound, 1lb 6oz. So that really felt like a milestone! I continue to feel great, just tired. That first trimester tiredness never left me. I've mentioned it to the doctor and they've done blood work to make sure I'm not deficient in any area and also re-checked urine samples and all continues to come back clean and normal. The docs just say that it is just the way my body handles the pregnancy. Since that is my only major complaint, I consider myself very lucky! DH and I are starting our first Lamaze class tomorrow and we are very excited!! This is really starting to feel real and that it is really going to happen. I wish all the best to everyone on this board. Have a great weekend! Lyn 27, UD 24w 1d preg w/ #1 !!!!
