Guest guest
, BU/SU differentiation is best done by lap/hyst or MRI. My home team did make a successful diagnosis with regular US, but my surgeon verified with a lap/hyst. I would not bank on the diagnostic properties of a sonohysterogram. I had a complete SU with a larger right horn, and know that my first son implanted in the smaller horn on the left because of the ovary that had the follicle and how I carried him. Then I had a resection and two more pregnancies, both also on the left, in the smaller horn. My second son came from the right ovary but wound up in the left horn--go figure. I wouldn't doubt that embryos have some limited capacity to " sniff " out a good place to implant, but can not do so in a terribly useful way (or else we SU ladies would never have m/cs, would we?). If you do have a true BU and have no rudimentary horn, don't worry about the side of implantation--your uterus will expand just fine.
