Guest guest
I am in the same situation regarding the high iron saturation. You should see a hematologist. These counts could be an indication of Hemochromatosis. It is hereditary and they can test for a specific gene. Since both you and your sister have iron problems, it could be your problem. Do not give blood prior to being tested by the hematologist. It will skew the results and hinder your diagnosis. Giving blood is the solution - but testing for the gene is important. http://www.ironoverload.org/ I'm waiting for test results and have no clue where this will tie in to the thyroid/adrenal problem. Fatigue, hypothyroidism and adrenal problems are a couple of the symptoms associated with Hemochromatosis. Oh - what puzzles we are! > >>>>>> > >>>>>> > >>>>>> > >>>>>>> hi val, i just ordered an iron panel for my sister from econolabs, and i am a little alarmed by the results... i knew her iron was high, but it seems to have gone higher.... > >>>>>>> > >>>>>>> TIBC 365 (250-450) > >>>>>>> UIBC 50 (150-375) > >>>>>>> iron, serum 315 (35-155) > >>>>>>> iron, saturation 86 (15-55) > >>>>>>> > >>>>>>> and the pattern is weird,,, from the explanation for the test from Lab Test Online, it is the pattern for iron poisoning.... > >>>>>>> i am worried for her; the only solution i can think of is to give blood, BUT we are both anemic from very low B12 (hers is lower than mine), low RBC, and high bilirubin (the other liver enzymes are ok).
