Hello everyone.

Thank you all for providing such a rich source of information for everyone on

this journey. This site has been a blessing. Without this and SSTM, I'd

still be looking for answers.

It's taken me almost six years to find out what has been going on with me, and

about ten doctors (all Kaiser) who all wanted to do everything from put me on

prozac, to removing my uterus. I knew at my core something was really going on

as I'd lost half the hair on my head, wasn't sleeping and had gone from 140lbs.

to 185lbs. in less than two months back then. Doctors told me again and again I

was just 'stressed'---um....no.

I worked out like a maniac, went through all manner of dermatologists on the

hair loss, was sent here and there and told I was fine. I finally saved my

pennies and went to an independent doctor who was willing to run me through a

bunch of tests for hormones, and thyroid, and lo and behold....I think I'm

finally on the right track. This doctor doesn't want to say the " H " word to me,

but tells me I'd need medicine (cytomel) the rest of my life. I'd like to

avoid that, but so want to feel better. I don't know if this reverse T3 is a

temporary affliction or what the dealio is....

I finally got copies of my reports, and based on this site, ordered a cortisol

saliva test which just came in the mail today.

I was really hoping some kind soul on here would help me with what my results

mean.

It would be greatly appreciated.

thyroid peroxidase antibodies < 10 range <35IU/ml

thyroglobulin antibodies <20 " <20 IU/ml (is it weird

that it's the same? Dr. does not seem worried....)

TSH 1.48 range .40-4.5 mIU/L

T4 Free, 1.19 range .8-1.8 nd/dl

T3 79 range 76-181 ng/dl

estradiol 96

free T3 2.4 range 2.0-4.4 pg/ml

reverse T3 296 range 90-350 pg/ml

Also taking Vitamin D3 5000mg, and B12 (as I'm a vegetarian) in 65mg. dose,

Iadoral (just half a pill too much makes me speedy) zinc, and a host of other

good for you vitamins. Selenium made my hair loss much worse.

Any help so very much appreciated. Cytomel? Can't that make the hair

loss/weight thing worse? Sorry for so long a post, but it's been a long road,

and I know many if not all of you from reading your posts can dig that.

Thanks in advance.
