Guest guest
Are you getting your water in and are you getting exercise in? Maybe you can post a day or two worth of your menus and we can give you some suggestions. Maybe a tweak or suggestion from someone may help. MB Re: Stress and crabbiness I could endure eating almost anything if I could just lose weight. Before I started SBD I usually ate pretty healthy but when i wanted sweets I ate them. I never gained weight I just wasn't losing weight either. I've been sticking to the rules on this diet for over a month with just a couple minor mess ups the last couple days and I've only lost 6 pounds. Is it worth it at this point NO...... In a few days if I stick with it and find something I enjoy will I feel better about it probably I think part of it is I never never never use artificial sweetners as a natural health educator it's totally against what I teach. Yet since I've been on SBD I have had quite a few things with artificial sweetner maybe my uncontroled stress is a result of that I don't know. I'd love to delete this and not send it but I am having a bad day and this makes several in a row so I need some encouragement and I know I can get it here without being judged. Ah, sweetie, hang in there. It will get better! I think we all go through crabby/depressed periods. I know I do. And I do agree with you -- life is too short to eat bad food. The only answer I've found is trial and error. There are plenty of foods I like that are on the plan, and also plenty I DON'T like! (The ricotta desserts? ICK!!!! But no sugar added fudgsicles are just as good for me as real ice cream.) The only way to figure out what works for YOU is to try them out, then keep track of what works and what doesn't. Obviously your pasta goes in the " doesn't work " bin. You might try another brand. (I like any whole-wheat organic pasta -- a very rich and " earthy " flavor.) And it IS kind of depressing to waste an eating experience on something bad, especially when it requires a lot of preparation. One answer might be to keep some easy-to-heat meals that you like in the freezer for when you try something new that's NOT a keeper. And remember that the longer you do this, the more you'll have stashed in your mental " this works " bin, so the easier it will get. Also, for me, my moods can feel like they're about the food, but often they're not, or at least not completely. What do you have in your life that gives you joy? It sounds like you work a lot of hours. Does that make you happy? If not, is there anything else you do in the average week that makes your heart sing? That gives you a happy reason to get up in the morning? If not, what can you add? For me, " you need to get out more " can be true! Sometimes I just need to break up my routine and do something (not food related) that makes me happy. It can change my entire day. Remember, positive change IS hard work, but worth it. Hugs! Guest guest
Debi, Would you mind posting your menus for a week? That way, we can see what you are eating and help you figure this out. It sounds like you are just under stress, period, with trying to organize the house, cook different things for the family, and of course, there could be a hormonal factor. I think that would affect your mood, rather than artificial sweeteners. Try to keep your chin up. {{hugs}} ann > > I could endure eating almost anything if I could just lose weight. If the artificial sweeteners might be a problem for you, don't use them!! There are other sweeteners available that don't have all the chemicals in them. Ask for details about Stevia. It's natural, sweet and has a whole lot less calories than sugar. Ditch whatever is not working for you and find something that does! -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@...
