- never take vitamins on an empty stomach. You need something, even

if it is just a cracker, to buffer your stomach. Taking your vitamins with a

meal will make them stay in your system longer so that they will be absorbed

better. One way that we test our vitamins in my support group to see if they

will dissolve is to place them in a small amount of warm vinegar for 30 minutes.

If they get soft in that length of time, then they should be dissolving in your

system. Funny thing is - the cheaper vitamins seem to test better than the more

expensive brands.

I never knew that. I take my vitamins first thing in the morning on an empty

stomach. I guess I will to start taking them after breakfast instead. It will

be hard to break a routine that I have done for over 25 years.
