you first

start the SBD, it's impossible to NOT overthink things. Food becomes what

you're thinking

about all the time. What you can have, what you can't have, what to fix, what

to snack

on.......it's crazy. It has to become everything you think about, because if

you go into " not

thinking about it " mode, then you're setting yourself up for failure. I mean,

honestly - it

takes good planning in order to stay on P1 of this diet. You're right - you

can't just " grab

something and go " . You have to, in most cases, prepare something in advance -

THANK YOU! AND THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IS SO HARD FOR ME. I ENDED UP

LAST NIGHT EATING 7 OR 8 MORE NUTS THAN I SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE SOMETHING IN ME

WANTED TO EAT MORE... AND I DIDN'T WANT TO EAT CARBS, AND WE'D EATEN THE

VEGGIES I'D COOKED, AND I STILL HADN'T CLEANED UP FROM THE ZUCCHINI FRITTERS I'D

MADE (WHICH DIDN'T TURN OUT VERY WELL), AND I WAS TIRED, AND MY CHOICES WERE:

RAW LEEKS, CABBAGE, RAW FLOPPY BROCCOLI WHICH I WAS GONG TO COOK TODAY, AND

BOK CHOY. I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE MORE FAT FREE CHEESE. SO I HAD 7 BLANCHED

ALMONDS.

ANOTHER FAILURE -- TOO MUCH FAT IN THE ALMONDS, BUT, POSSIBLY BETTER THAN

CARBS.... I FELT QUITE TRAPPED. AND THERE WAS THE OPTION OF NOT EATING

ANYTHING, JUST DRINKING MORE WATER. BUT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SNACK AND IT HAD

BEEN SEVERAL HOURS SINCE DINNER AND WE WEREN'T GOING TO BED FOR ANOTHER

HOUR OR SO . . . .

thinking about

it ALL THE TIME.

can and can't

have and you stop analyzing things so much. I don't know.

WELL -- THE BOOK SAYS, AND EVERYONE SAY,S THAT YOU LOSE A LOT IN PHASE 1. SO

THAT WAS ONE OF THE THINGS I WAS REALLY HOPING FOR. I NEED TO LOSE 7 POUNDS TO

GET TO GOAL.... BUT THEY JUST WON'T COME OFF AND UNTIL I LOSE THEM MY BODY FAT

RATIO IS GOING TO REMAIN OUT OF PROPORTION, SO IT'S IMPORTANT.

I just know that now I'm back to hardly thinking about food at all. I'm on P2,

so I have

more options, and I don't feel as limited. It's easier to plan meals, and I've

learned to like

a lot of foods that before I couldn't stand or hadn't even tried.

RIGHT. THERE'S A REAL UP SIDE TO P1. I'M LEARNING A LOT ABOUT DIFFERENT

VEGGIES.

BUT HAVEN'T STOPPED YEARNING FOR CARBS, AND AM HOPING TO GO INTO PHASE 2

LIGHTER AND MORE " ENLIGHTENED.'

" overthink " in this

diet when you're just beginning (or in P1). It will get better. But I think

the " overthinking "

isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a learning process.
