Guest guest
Call off the dogs -- I think. The unsweetened cocoa powder that I put into the recipe turned out NOT to be what I'd thought. Here, at my HoneyPie's house, I'd thought that I could trust that what was inside a jar was what the label said was inside. Apparently this is a VERY VERY (I hope) old jar of unsweetened cocoa.... and ... truth to tell .... a FORMER person of the female persuasion.... many many many moons ago (YEARS! I'M HOPING, since we'll been together nonstop for three years in February) had consolidated space and poured up regular " cocoa mix " -- the sweetened kind, with nonfat dry milk, why, and sugar added -- into the old Droste's container, since it looked more " quaint " that way. hah! Heh. serves him right. I shall have to the whole recipe again. And he will have to taste it again -- well, not " HAVE " to... but, if he derned well knows what's good fer'em (now that I know the truth!) he WILL taste it again! Hah. And while I'm at the store getting unsweetened baker's cocoa, I will also get baking Splenda. --Annie Neeeiiiiooowwwwuuuuu..... (scratch, hiss!) Guest guest
Also, Nutrasweet doesn't hold up to baking like Splenda does. It loses its sweetness. That may have been another difference.
