Guest guest
Actually, all that cooking yesterday paid off. Today was pretty easy -- I have cut and cooked veggies to use. And that's nice. A big breakfast of 1/2 c cottage cheese, 4 T flax seed meal, 1/4 c walnuts, 1/2 c collards, and 1/3 c. cauliflower from last night. Lunch will be the leeks, and maybe some leftover steak or pork. I have bok choy for dinner.... with whatever leftover meat I don't eat from before. I will serve the Jumbalya to my son when he stops off here tomorrow -- home for an afternoon from college -- and if he likes it, he can take it back to school with him. A worthy cause. By the way -- one of you wrote that you were sorry to hear about him. Yes, I was sorry he had " tried " grass, too. But, I think there's a big difference between that and addiction. I can only hope and pray that the 25% chance of addiction he has in his genes won't kick in. Lots of colege and high school kids do TRY things. At least he told me. He also tried booze. I'm glad that, if he insists on doing that, knowing I don't want him to, at least he isn't hiding it. There was a time when I was younger when I tried grass several times. Of course, back then it isn't what it is today. But I decided I didn't like it because the next day or two I just couldn't get my own brain back easily enough. I needed my good sound mind to do homework, and work, and just go normally about life... so I just never really seemed to find time to try it again. . . and that was that. I heard him saying something similar to that... so I'm hoping that's the end of it.... I just didn't want anyone thinking I had a kid who was an addict. It's always possible, since there's no way to know until it's too late. I told him I thought it was stupid -- especially considering his genetic history. But, young people do lots of stupid things, and so do old fogeys like me. Anyway... that's just for the record. He's really a lucid, bright, fun, handsome, popular, and talented kid who I have every reason to believe will do something wonderful with his life.
