Guest guest
So sorry to hear about the problems Jo-Anne and are having! I don't think you " do " anything to cause band slippage -- I think it just happens. I think some surgeons really sew it in well and I would be shocked if it happens to me since I was told it was really cinched down. I think 's perforation was most likely caused by an instrument--not by the band itself. Although even a soft object can erode an organ--especially if there is some degree of rejection of the foreign object. I have not written lately since I am still somewhat depressed over my failure to lose a ton overnight. I did lose one of the two pounds I gained. I try to weigh only once a week--otherwise my whole day is ruined if I don't get a good number. I wish I could stop thinking my whole life is controlled by my weight. I am still waiting for an adjustment since I am convinced that is what I need. I do not think you should have to wait a month for a 10 minute doctor's appointment but what can I do? I suppose I could be more demanding or claim it's an emergency. Instead I am trying to be patient. I'd like to hear some more positive stories. I think it also might be a good idea for us to add up the pounds we have lost between us--I bet it would be several hundred--maybe that ton I am looking for. Don't forget the Seattle support group meeting 2/22/99! Keep us posted on your troubles as well as your successes. We are all hoping for the best and learning alot through each other's experiences.
