Guest guest
Someone told me -- a few posts ago, a few days ago -- to either " commit to SBD or forget it. " Basically it was that. I forget who it was. I am commiting -- as I said. Which is WHY I am asking questions. But, as I explained, with almost a year of WW behind me, there remain some insecurities. I've already discussed these ad infinitum, but, when it is so so so so hard to lose, and when I spent practically a whole year losing 10 pounds, (IT was 15, but I gained back 5 on a trip and now THEY won't come off! And that's important), it is scary to be eating things like fats, which, have such a long history and such a reputation of " making you fat. " And yes, I know that it is about the balance of food, and what happens to them once they get into your system..... which is why you can't count the calories. But that presumes you're eating a balance of things... like enough good carbs, for example to balance the good fats. Since Carol also hangs out at one of the WW sites, and since she's familiar with both programs, I asked her, on the other site, get into the differences between SBD and WW's CORE program, which DOES make you account for what you eat. See -- sometimes I feel so insecure doing this because it's so hard to get out of the habit of counting points. I'm so afraid I'll eat too much of something. . . .like nuts, for example. Not more than 1/4 c per serving (of almonds and walnuts, but I realize it varies by the nut). Well, does that mean ONLY one serving per day? ANd if there's a limit of nut good fats, then why no limit on OTHER good fats. Or is there? And how do you know if there's a limit? IT's just " here are the good foods. Eat them. IT's simple. " But when I'm close to goal,. . . see.... if I gain five pounds, that could take me ANOTHER SIX MONTHS OR A YEAR to take off.... So, forgive my insecurities, here. I posted this here just because there are lurkers on both sites and I didn't want it to look like I was playing one off against the other. I'm not. I'm looking for 1) Some clarity and, 2) Something right for me, and 3) reassurance along the way that I'm doing the right thing.
