Whole Wheat Flour Question

I started to search the posts but didn't have the time to filter

through all the ones dealing with whole wheat so here's my question:

Can you make a bread recipe whole wheat by just switching out the type

of flour? Or is there more to it than that? I have a bread baking book

and some of the breads are great but the recipes of cours say All-

Purpose flour. Just wondering if I could substitute whole wheat.

Hope this makes sense.
