I had to laugh at your above e-mail as to planning a last supper and yes I did similar I went to the Sheraton Mirage here on the Gold Coast for a seafood smorgasbord and had the biggest feed possible. I thought to myself this is the last time I'll be able to get value for money here so I had a lovely time and was banded the next day. So don't think your the only one to think such things. The band so far has been very easy for me to adjust I had no pain and I feel great however the fluids only stage is difficult. I got weighed today at the dietican and guess what I have lost 5.5kgs in ONE WEEK YAHOO!!!!!! Your the 1st at ozband to get this news. I am very excited. It's onwards and upwards from here. Talk again soon your lap land friend Alisonxxxxxxxx _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
Hi Karin and others, Yes, I would say most people go through that stage!! I think from the first time I went to the surgery and just before I went in for the operation I had put on 2 kgs!! I just kept saying to myself that I had to make the most of the time I had, so ate anything and everything, rather sad isn't it? The latest on my fill from Thursday - I'm still having difficulty eating things that I could prior to the fill. I really have had to go back to the pureed and fluid stage. I was able to eat dry crackers with cheese etc prior to the fill but attempted them today for lunch with great pain!! Still on the downward slide though, I got on the scales this morning and have now lost 12 kgs. cheers Dale Banded: 19 February 2001(Brisbane) Starting Weight: 97 kgs Current Weight: 85 kgs I can't stop eating!!! >I haven't been banded yet but when I start to think really deep about >it I get stressed and want to eat continuously. Guest guest
I sure did Karin, I put on 3kgs in the 2 weeks leading up to my op! I can't speak for everyone but 10 weeks down the track and I can still eat anything, just in much smaller portions. I've lost 9kgs and still haven't had a fill, I'll get around to it sooner or later. Best of luck Kell >From: karinds@... >Reply-To: ozband >To: ozband >Subject: I can't stop eating!!! >Date: Mon, 02 Apr 2001 08:56:24 -0000 > >I haven't been banded yet but when I start to think really deep about >it I get stressed and want to eat continuously. Guest guest
Karin and Geri I'm glad you said that. I seem to be eating heaps more, with the thought that l may never have a particular food again once l have the band fitted. I dare not step on the scales to see how much l have gained. I feel better now knowing others also had their " last supper " Laureen I can't stop eating!!! > > > > I haven't been banded yet but when I start to think really deep about > > it I get stressed and want to eat continuously. Guest guest
Laureen, I have had that many last suppers it is ridiculous. Might as well celebrate and have a good time prior to surgery. You are going to lose it all anyway. Don't forget the simple pleasures though. I remember thinking that I would have done anything for a fillet steak when I was banded. You will also be getting a case of nerves which also increases the need for comfort food. (Well that's my excuse). I think I gained five kilos prior to my last surgery.
