Guest guest
What has been the most weight loss after MGB? If anyone knows please let me know. I know I want to have this surgery. I am just afraid I won't lose enough. I am dieting now to get my weight down just to have the surgery. I have to be under 400lbs. Right now I am at 417 and I am 5 feet 9 inches tall. I know the amount of weigh loss has to do with exercise and changing my eating habits. Thanks for any information you can provide. Guest guest
Dear Lara, I have lost 67 lbs in 4 months since my surgery on Jan 10, 2000. The only exercise I do is using my Chi Machine, other than going up and down the steps to our basement and walking around the house all day. I am on my feet most of the time, but I don't work out. If you are interested in the Chi Machine. Go to Keyword and type in Chi Machine and you'll see what it is about. in Missouri
Guest guest
Dear , Forget cannonization of Dr. R.....instead, let's figure out how we can " clone " him or get him to take on some " trainee " residents....The man's a miracle worker, but even God had to rest! At the rate Dr. R's prospective patients list keeps growing, he's going to need his own specialty residency program so he can train more Dr. Rs...........! Guest guest
This morning I weighed in at 172 lbs. So that means I have lost a total of 70 lbs since my MGB on 1 10 2000!!!!!!!!! in Mo
Guest guest
Dear Gabrieale, I am eating chicken, fish, turkey, corn, baked potato with real butter and fat free sour cream, I make my own homemade Whole Wheat Bread and I grind my own flour from the Montana Flour company!!! I use the spring white wheat and it is delicious. I use jelley that is sweetened only with juice, NO SUGAR. I fix desserts with sugar free jello and skim milk and fat free cool whip and grahm crackers. I make casseroles and use the 98% fat free cream soups and my snack is fat free cream cheese on crackers. Seems like I eat all the time!!! I am on my feet all day running around the house, up and down the steps to do laundry, use the computer, iron, cook, clean. I have so much energy that I scare people. lol lol Before surgery I just sat in a chair and could barely breathe!!! I'm not exagerating on little bit either. I am like a brand new person, better than when I was in my 20s or 30s or even my 40s. I will be 56 in July!!!! I am praising the Lord night and day for this miracle. I pray for each of you every single day too. I want everyone that wants and needs this surgery to get to have it. You deserve it and we will never give up praying for it to happen for all that truly seek. Keep the faith. Love to all, in Mo MGB 1 10 2000 170 lbs/ down from 242 lbs. 5 ft 1 in tall

Guest guest
: Wow! That is fantastic weight loss in only FOUR months! It sounds like your starting weight is about what mine is (my surgery is 5/25). I hope I'll have the glowing success you have had. Just imagine, that means by Christmas I could be wearing a size 12!!!! Oh, what a joy that would be. How are you feeling in general? Do you mind sharing with us what types of foods you have been eating? And exercise? Thank you so much for sharing, e ************************************************* gabjones@... *************************************************

Guest guest
Pip, I know this sounds taldry and trite and very easy to say but do you have an exercise program? I don't expect you to publicly answer the question - just ask yourself. I know saying it is easy (I go to sleep every night thinking about exercise myself and my horses but thats as far as it goes) but exercise - even just a little bit, does help. Jo Orange Re: Hi - sorry took so long. Hi , I've been trying to vitamise stuff for the mush stage but find it very unpalatable so have been eating soft foods and making sure I chew them into an absolute mushy pulp before swallowing - this seems to be working ok. My loss seemed to have slowed dramatically after the first week - I'm trying to weigh myself once a week only on Fridays, so I'll see what it's like this week. Initally I lost 8.5 kilos in the first week then only .5 of a kilo in the second. I don't think I've lost much more this week and I'm certainly not eating like I used to - go figure! I'm trying not to put too much emphasis on it until I have an inflation. Pip Hi - sorry took so long. Hi , Sorry I've taken so long to reply - I've only just collected my email (hundreds of the little buggers!) I've just this Thursday moved from liquid to mush stage. In my first week I lost 8.5 kilos and then this week only .5 kilos - sheesh! Food wise has been a little easier to take since I've been eating mushed up pasta and the like. The scars seem to be healing well although I probably should get some vitamin e cream onto them I suppose. I get the odd twinge around where the port is and can actually feel where it is now if I press gently just slightly left of the middle. I've not felt particularly restricted in what I eat but I guess that will come with the first inflation. Hope you're doing well. Guest guest
Hi Jo, You're quite right about the exercise of course - however I need to loose a bit before I can consider it. I am simple too big to exercise successfully (ie without hurting myself) at present but I'm all set with a treadmill when I loose a little more. I don't have anything in the band yet so I'm not too worried. Pip Hi - sorry took so long. Hi , Sorry I've taken so long to reply - I've only just collected my email (hundreds of the little buggers!)
