Guest guest
Ya know , I worried that about it as well. I have an HMO, and my surgeon handed me a list of tests to have and sent me off to my PCP. Guest guest
Those of you who have the abdom. cerclages, what did your dr.s say re swimming, baths, etc. ? During my last pregnancy, I wasn't allowed to do these things...now that I am expecting again, I wonder how important it is really b/c I swim every day. Any thoughts? My doctor encouraged me to keep swimming once i past my 24 week mark. I never did though b/c i was too nervous. I don't remember if i asked her about baths, but i know I could have killed for one b/c of the aches & pains i had w/ the pg. I ended up buying a tub seat & a hand held shower & took long, hot showers. i would wait until after the 24 week mark & go back to swimming if you get the okay from your doc. It is so healthy for your body & the pg.

Guest guest
I am unable to par-take in any of those. They told me that the water can cause problems for me. I believe there are so women here that are able to swim. I wish I could give you more advice but this was all I was told. Guest guest
I was told by my doc that on my next pregnancy (with the ab) I won´t be able to swim. He thinks that the pool can increase the risk of inffection and I seem to be prone to them. I also swim every day and will miss it a lot. Guest guest
Hello all, I was wondering does the progesterone shot help develop the babies lungs quickier? I can remember discussing a steroid that is give during the grey zone and only last for 6-7 days. Then you need another shot. Is this the same thing? If not what is the other drug called? I believe had this? – not sure taryn

Guest guest
It can be done either way. Mine was general -- placed pre- pregnancy. Usually if there are no complications it takes 1 hour. But if you've had fibroids or previous Ab surgeries, etc. it could add to the time the surgery will take. > HI > I was just wondering is the abdominal done with general anesth, or a > spinal/ epidural. how long does this procedure usually last. Guest guest
mine started under spinal and peri told the anesthesiologist he need 1 hour. Well, it ran longer and I started getting sensation, so they had to put me under general. I think it ended up taking an hour and a half. I was pg at the time and although he tries to do them under spinal, I was assured the general would not affect the babies. Guest guest
I had a spinal tap. It doesn¡Çt last long as the others. Surgery was an hour not including prep time.
