Guest guest
Hi Joan, your experience on the Alaska trip are upsetting. I get so annoyed in this age of so called " accommodation " and " oh yes, we are accessible " , and yet, I find this is not true! So much for ADA being put to use. Now, I have only been to Disneyland, in Calif. but this is true: if you are in a wheelchair, you and your family don't have to wait for rides, you go to the front of the line, and have a great time! You might try contacting Guest Relations at DisneyWorld before your trip.(sorry this is one website/email I DON'T HAVE! They may even have more to offer - just a thought. And let us know how it goes Gretchen JSHELIKO@... wrote: > > From: JSHELIKO@... > > I'm also am interested in hearing about trip experiences. Guest guest
Hi Toni, I had the same questions and quandry over booking hotel and airline tickets. Dr. R. and Debbie said to leave the return flight " open " but it wasn't that easy, or cost twice as much, etc. However, Dr. R and Debbie both have convinced me to stay 1 week, like Dr. R. likes. So I finally decided to do that. I booked airline tickets that way, and found out the hotel rate for 1 week was cheaper than getting 3, 4, or 5 days. Both Red Roof Inn, RPT ($244.00) and Extended Stay America ($270.00) per week. I don't know where you are coming from, but I am from Arizona, so decided I'd rather stick around and play it safe, even though I wanted to get home immediately. Guest guest
Toni, Set a departure date with the time frame Dr. R. gives and most airlines will let you change for a 50 - 100 fee if necessary. And if there is an important reason like medical they may even waived the fee. I had my tickets today and found I had to change them. Took me 20 minutes on the phone but they did it. No charge. Guest guest
Hi Listmates. I am about to embark on a 10 day trip to Arizona and New Mexico. We will be going from place to place without any set agenda. I'm feeling a bit daunted by the task of remaining gfcf when we will be in Navajo Territory, no health food stores within hundreds of miles...I thought I would ask for all your best travel tips! I already know I'll be packing a suitcase just with 's stuff, but how do I keep things fresh? I'd really appreciate your imput. I can try to put together a travel tips document for distribution at the January meeting. Thanks a ton! Guest guest
Liz, I certainly envy you your travels, it all sounds SO exciting! I'm sure that just like the US travel I do, it's exhausting especially if you are not feeling well. I hope your next trip(S) are worry and pain-free. Please share your adventures, I think I'm sharing them vicariously with you! LOL, Judy O
