Guest guest
Ann: My sense about yeast overgrowth is that the kids who had lots of antibiotics as babies are probably those most prone to this problem. My son did have a minor yeast problem, but it was squelched with a couple of rounds of Nystatin. He did not have a lot of ear infections or repeated antibiotics as a baby. Anyone else care to comment? ...
Guest guest
My son had tons of ear infections even with three different operations for ear tubes. Antibotics were tried one after the other..What did my wife and I know but what the " experts " told us.. We changed his diet and his continious ear infections stopped..Period ....never to reappear..Amazing isn't it.. When I did 3 hour glucose test for my son we not only found out he was mildly hypoglycemic, we also found out he had a yeast issue..Duh! With Dr. Hift we used nyastain and I can see a difference in verbalisation.... Also no sweets, very, very limited fruits especially those high in solicatites.. Pear juice for mixing with Spectrum Suipport Formula II from Brainchild Nutritionals . He only gets the occassional pears, Papaya and Mango(dried from health food store with no sulfates) I'm very strict. No corn, no gluten and no casien..Monday we hope to start DMSO with secretin. Thanks for the tip on TMG. I love you guys for your insight to bettering my sons life. Everything helps.. I hope you don't mind I'm not a mommy but a daddy who is trying to do everything he can to help his son. Thanks JB
Guest guest
This is a valid point for kids with normally functioning immune systems, but without really knowing " which came first " , I think all of our kids are susceptible to some type of yeast or other GI nasties. My son only had an antibiotic once, and he has yeast and other " abnormal microbial overgrowth " in his gut. I think this will be a problem until we get the heavy metals out of him.
