Guest guest
Glass! And sometimes paper bags, depending on what it is that's being cooked or stored. And in the refrigerator and freezer, too -- though I tried to convince him that due to the very low temperatures in the freezer, there would be less molecular motion. Honestly, I only had high school chemistry, and it was my worst class, and I almost didn't get into the college I wanted to attend because of my chemistry grade. So, I know nothing about chemistry and physics other than heat makes molecules move faster. (Forget ions and compounds, etc.) It sounded good. So, now I can use plastics in the freezer, though we still have glass there, too. I know that much food in the store is sold in plastics. I don't go there. . . on that topic. But when I cook, it's different. And heating something right in the bag would not fly. The steamer sounds like a good idea. . . . though it's probably just as good to put a strainer in the bottom of a favorite pan. I will have to look at steamers to see if they are more convenient. Those fan-shaped disc steamer trays are a nuisance to clean. Anyone know any good steamers? Convenient. Easy. That don't take up much space. I have little counter space in my California kitchen (but enough storage), and in the Boston kitchen little storage space but much counter space. Thanks.
