Guest guest
I just got off the phone with my sister as I was confused on what I wanted to do with my life... in the end, she said to follow my dreams, and you will be a better person in the long run. Dreams are what make us alive, and actually LIVING them brings tremendous satisfaction and happiness. So I guess you know where I'm coming from - find ANY way you can to make your dream of becoming a vet come true. Most of my serious health problems came in the last 7 years. Knock on wood I had compassionate and understanding bosses, most of which also had their own health problems. ly, they valued my work so much, they would bend over backwards to accommodate me (and this was in a VERY fast paced silicon-valley kind of company). I would estimate that I was out sick at least 4-6 weeks a year, but had many more " bad " days while I showed up at work, but wasn't productive (brain dead would be more accurate). I would hope that you can find some way to work with the professors to make this all happen. I started off by mentioning my sister... she is a teacher (high school). The pleasure she gets from students who show a real zest for learning is what keeps her coming back. I hope your professors will recognize that in you, and assist you through school. Don't be afraid to ask for special help. While I cant give you specific advice on how to get through school, I can say I am living my dreams and not letting my diseases get in the way. Oh, and just to remind you, I'm the guy who travels all over the world a few times a year, and I am living with EG, reflux, acute colitis, eczema, IgG deficiency, and severe food allergies - I eat about 5-10 foods. And I dont let it stop me from doing just about anything - sure I accidentally get sick when I travel, but it's just a part of life, and I deal with it. There's just too much out there that I want to see and do! Best wishes, Kenny
