Hi Patience,

Yes I have had severe pain in that area, but no I don't have any idea what caused it....I do have Diverticulosis, but the Doctors have never been concerned with that left sided pain....

I have EG. It was biopsied in the Ileosecal area and up into the small bowel from that end. I also have it in my stomach and Duodenum which was as far as my gagging would let them go....LOL None in the colon or Esophagus. Well I should say that there were none three years ago.... Mine too looked normal, but the biopsies showed otherwise. Do you know what layer is affected? Mine is SubMucosal..... I get the high peripheral eos when I am having an attack and sometimes when I am not...

My pain is often diffused over the entire abdomen with the most concentrated pain in the lower right quadrant or in my stomach. I too have Vicodin for pain, but fortunately have not had to use it for a while. For me it sometimes helps to go on clear liquids for a few days to let everything rest. I know when I have been NPO in the hospital that my pain gets better, so reasoned that even a minor rest with clear liquids would prove helpful with minor attacks.

It sounds like you are having a major one right now...Sure wish I could be more helpful, but I never did find the cause of that left side pain. One doctor said, Well there's nothing there to hurt... Yeah right.....Well something does........

Do you take meds other than Prednisone? I take Allegra which I know has helped me, and Tagamet which helps with the Stomach pain I know..... I am also supposed to take Gastrochrom, but as everyone knows I have a terrible time remembering to take it......

I have some friends in Seattle area and may be moving up there myself. Currently I am in So.Cal.

I hope you get some resolution soon and no more pain...

Judy
