Guest guest
My mother passed away on 9/22/97 from CJD. My mother was 68, healthy and retired-----enjoying life. In late March 1996, she was on jury duty ---the case was a Cocaine conviction. She was sooooo upset that the jury didn't convict the person on trial due to " not enough evidence " . During the deliberations, they had a sample of cocaine on the table.......My mother kept saying, what other evidence do you want ???? My mother was so against drugs.............and she was just soooooo upset, that the other jurors didn't see it her way. The trial was a Monday>>Thursday. That Friday, she complained about being extremely tired. She saw her family doctor the following week. He ran the tests.........said if she doesn't feel better in 1 week --he would admit her to the hosp. Well, she wasn't feeling any better ----she was admitted ----all tests were neg. In May, she saw a neurologist ------by now she is getting confused, forgetful, scared, and unsteady walking......She started screaming and having hallucinations the last week of May. She was admitted to hosp.------diagnosed with CJD -----never walked again, never talked again, couldn't swallow etc. etc. etc (you all know the story) She came home ---June 6th to a hosp. bed. I do agree with everyone -----who thinks stress can trigger this deadly disease. My parents were in England/Scotland etc in the late70's, early 80's. I hope that we can help find out ---just what is going on.......with CJD... Thanks for CJD VOICE and thanks for all the e-mail.........It is a comfort.. My thoughts and prayers and with all who are going through and all who have been through this devastating disease.............
