We really do have alot in common. Actually, my 3rd preg was with a

failed vag cerclage. I am having my ab cer don at 13 weeks, and I

too am scared to death about what lies ahead. We did get some good

news this week... we have been trying to adopt at the same time, and

after finding out last weeekend that we are preg again, this week we

were contacted by a birth mom who is considering us to be the future

parents of her unborn child, so if all works well, we will finally

have the family we have wanted so desperately after the first of the

year!

I know after our 3rd loss in 4/02, we were told it would be best to

wait a year before trying again after the failed vag cer. I too see

a high risk who is a man, but I can tell you he is a God send, he

truly is a special Dr. who really cares. I hope that your high risk

is caing also, it makes all the difference!

Take care,

Stacey

, I am so sorry to hear about all four of your losses. I

just wanted to comment regarding your irritable uterus. I lost my

first baby at 23 weeks due to i/c. I had a vaginal cerclage with my

next pregnancy and I too, was diagnosed with an irritable uterus

because of the stitch. I had PTL from 20 weeks till I had my

daughter at 36 weeks. I had a c-section with her because she was

breech. I'm pregnant now for a 3rd time and had the ab cer placed

on 5/28/03. I have not had an irritable uterus with the ab

cerclage so far and I am now 25 weeks. Prior to having the ab

cerclage when I was doing research on it I did come across info.

stating that the ab cerclage does not cause the irritable uterus

condition as often as the vaginal cerclage does. I believe the risk

of infection is less also because it's not right there in your vagina.

Also, you can have the ab cerclage removed during your c-section if

you don't want to have more children. So it's not like you would

have it forever.

Your husband will relax after your first c-section because it really

goes smoothly. My husband will vouch for this. He went through

labor with me when we lost our son and in his prior marriage his

exwife and he almost lost their son at birth because he was not

breathing when he was born due to a difficult delivery. When our

daughter was born it only took 10 minutes or less before she was

delivered and then he was able to go to the nursey to watch her have

her first bath and get her foot prints, etc. while I was being

stitched up. He would gladly go through another c-birth than a

vaginal birth anyday.

Well good luck to you and I hope you get the answers you want.

Wow, that's great to know! I also had that question, as I have dealt with the irritable uterus issue myself! Thanks for the info!

I have to agree on the issue regarding husbands. When I had my loss

last year June I was in full labor with contractions a minute in length

and a minute apart. I have never experianced such agony and my poor dh

had to sit there by my side not being able to do a thing for me. He

said that he never wants to see me go through that agony again. He is a

lot happier that I would be having a c/s when I eventually get pg again.

I am so glad you are in this group. You are a very brave women. After all

you have been though, the cerclage will be a breeze for you. Believe me, I

also had many concerns and worries before my pre-preg cerclage was placed. I

have absolutely no regrets and the pain will be much much less than you think.

I

could not bare loosing another child and I also could not bare not doing all

that I could to have a normal pregnancy and be able to carry a child full

term. I just had the surgery in July so we will take a few months break before

we try to get pregnant.

I am so very sorry for your losses.

Hi , thanks for your support. I'm looking for a Dr. and praying to God that I will be a good candidate for this. I'm very scared about getting pg again, but if a Dr. thinks I will have a good chance of having a baby I think I would give one more and LAST try.

Thanks for your advice, Poovey wrote:

Hi Hester, welcome. Congratulations on getting a surgery date. Our

worth as human beings isn't determined by our weight, but its amazing

how much more clearly we can see our worth when not being weighed
