Guest guest
Hey Kelsey -- It probably isnt the corn syrup. There is corn syrup on the label of ingredients in the powder too. There have been problems with the juice boxes in the past. My 11/yo that drinks the boxes, it is the only one who had eos (thought not many) and we wondered if it was the boxes too, but I dont care, not enough eos to worry about in my book and certainly better than befor the juice boxes. -- Idiopathic Eosinophilic esophagitis; Mom to 15, IEE, NIssen/GT; Ken,11, IEE; Korey,7, IEE (NG); Kody, 4, IEE/CIPO. Guest guest
Phyllis, THese are all THE big questions and if any of you have any input into the food trials PLEASE EMail me. We are (supposedly) starting soon one food at a time and will rely purely on subjective complaint (chest pain, abdominal pain, hiccups, their normal complaints). I'm not sure this will work with my 11/yo. He never complained, just started choking one day when he had scarred up. He drinks the boxes, though, so I am in no hurry to do anything with him. I will be very interested in 's (another EE kid on a restricted diet on this list) biopsy reports since he successfully did this. -- Idiopathic Eosinophilic esophagitis; Mom to 15, IEE, NIssen/GT; Ken,11, IEE; Korey,7, IEE (NG); Kody, 4, IEE/CIPO. Guest guest
In a message dated 99-03-16 23:05:24 EST, you write: << More questions on the neocate/tube diet. How long are you on neocate before you try to introduce foods? We had on corn and apples with the first two weeks but then we waited several weeks before adding any other foods. Some kids will drink the Neocate won't they? refused to drink it. We went with the ng tube. I won't say it was a delight but it was not near as bad as I had expected. How do you know if a food is causing more eosinophils? Mine is not old enough to tell us if it hurts yet, plus I think it has been that way on and off for so long I don't know if he knows the difference. >> was not old enough to tell us either. I think part of it is intuition and part of it is close observation. Basically look for the problems that your child is currently experiencing. Guest guest
Hi ! How does deal w/all this at school? Does he have lots of really good friends? I was half-invited to three parties this weekend, but didn't stay long at the one I went to. I say half-invited because usually people realize who they're asking to go to a pizza place w/when the invite is halfway out of their mouth. Thanks for the info! luv ya, Kelsey ____ " The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
