Guest guest
Dear All, I lucked in today at the Melbourne University's medical library, with the December 31 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine finally appearing on the shelves. As mentioned previously, this issue contains a 12 page review article of " Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and related transmissible spongiform encephalopathies " by T. and Clarence J. Gibbs. The article claims that CJD has been popularized by the extensive media coverage of the BSE epidemic in Britain, and to the author's knowledge the incidence of CJD has not changed in " recent years " . Nonetheless, the review is extremely comprehensive, not overly technical, and an essential resource for those with an active interest in CJD. I remember that Debbie, a, and Nancie expressed an interest in receiving a hard copy of the article by mail [it is not available on line at the NEMJ website], but since I have " misplaced " some of my earlier January messages, I would appreciate a reminder from other CJD Voice members who expressed a similar interest. With kindest regards, Lynette.
