Guest guest
Dear and Don, My father (Saul Polack) also died of CJD contracted from dura mater. He had facial surgery in Los Angeles in 1986 and died in 1995 at the age of 61. No autopsy was performed, but the doctors at UCLA STRONGLY suspect CJD. You may contact Gloria (my mother - glowusa@...) who has more details, i.e. hospital name, etc. so that CDC can contact her. He must be counted as well. Thanks Sharon Lanis in Israel My aunt was only 39 AND it was from dura mater. Except from those > here on this list, there wasn't a lot of interest in that... > > >> > > , has your family had any contact with the CDC after your aunt 's > death? When Schonenberg called me I mentioned your aunt's case, and he said > they were investigating since she was the only known dura mater transmission > in the US. I certainly hope all the follow-up--from manufacturer to known > recipients--is being conducted and people are being notified. > > Don in Atlanta > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ >
