Guest guest
Mel, You are certainly right about us being the best spokespeople for cjd. The letter writing is so important. I have been pleasantly surprised since I started planning the conference how people do respond. We need to keep writing, talking and telling what we want done. Elaine, As I tell my boys " it never hurts to ask " you might get told no but one doesn't know until they try. It would be a big boost to have a higher profile person interested in cjd. I will invite her to the conference, inform her about cjd and just lay all the cards out on the table. All she can do is say she isn't interested. She has shown an interest in dementias. I found the books easily on Amazon.com, just put in lynn . They are well respected people and do so much I say 'let's give it a try " . Don, I will be waiting for you to send the address. Seriously....should I mention your Dad? I will mention the Moons too since you are in Georgia and it was also your idea. I never think it hurts to mention things that can be related to that are close to home. Now I am going to end this on a sad note. Please keep these people in your prayers. My husband is one of the commanders at the State Police Post here in Fort Wayne and last night a trooper stopped a vehicle, in the middle of a town and the man got out and shot him many times with an automatic weapon. He died of course. He was 26, had just graduated from the police academy in December and got his own patrol car last week. He leaves a wife and family no children though. They have not located the gunman yet. Last month a young officer, out of the same class in December was riding with his trainer. They had a vehicle pulled over on the toll road. A truck driver came along who eventually tested for cocaine, ran off the road and ran over the police car and the other car. The officer was killed and a grandfather and grandson in the vehicle that had been pulled over. He was 28 left a wife and an 8 month old child. So I ask you to give them all a thought. This is near and dear to me as I remember when my husband just came out of the academy 19 years ago. Everything is so new and exciting. But this is your worst nightmare. Everyone have a Safe and Fun Easter. Robin
