Guest guest
Ok, I'm finally going to spill this, and stop letting it get to me! Watch out! LOL I have this coworker who is quite nice, though a little edgy and impatient. Last week she bit my head off about nothing, and I got upset about it. Since I'm not the type of person to start crying about something that petty, she asked me what was wrong. I told her I was stressed about . This was around the same time he threw up whole chunks of bread from his lunch 7 hours prior. I was a little upset because it was totally apparent that his max doses of propulsid weren't cutting it. Do you know what this person told me? " It could be worse. He could have been born without a stomach. You need to look on the bright side of things. " I could have hit her over the head with my chair. I'm sorry, but how insulting is that? It could be worse? Well yeah, it could be alot worse. But that belittles what my son goes through every day. Why is it that people think if your child smiles or laughs that " he must not be that sick " ? I think the thing that offended me the most is the whole no-stomach comment. See, the dr's are telling us that they think this might be a permanent condition. Adults who have gastroparesis for many years become very sick, and very depressed over the pain and nausea. A surgical procedure that removes most of the stomach is performed on a small segment of adult gastroparesis people who get really critical. I'm not saying that will have this in 20 years. Heck, I'm not even saying that he will have this in 10 years. It's just, you know what I'm trying to say? And the worst thing is this woman actually made me feel guilty for a second. Like, " why am I thinking so negatively? " But I'm not thinking negatively, I'm just being honest and looking at the information provided to me by my son's doctors. But enough about all that. I'm doing ranting now! Thanks for reading
