Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I DID get my husbands records...finally...from the local hospital. My husband did have a head injury 2 years ago. But there was evidence dating back to 1994 of CJD symptoms. One doctor mad the statement that he could not understand what was wrong with Mr. Wells? But it was documented by 4 different doctors that they were in agreement that it was CJD. And that they had ruled out everything else. So I guess we will see where we go from here. The Primary doctor who signed the death certificate had his copies waiting on his Fax mach9ne when he arrived at his office this morning. One thing for sure you sure do know what patience is by the time you get through with all these peoplw. But thank the good Lord, I do have the records and I can answer questions a little better than I could. Oh! yes before I forget......One doctor wrote in the records that I had given them information that I got off the internet, which was realy great and it " helped " to understqand more about the disease. It does work!!!! Not all doctors will put it in writing, but this one did. The " blood spill " was not documented, but I do have the date that he received 3 units of blood. He only received that many...one...time. Thanks for all your help. Love, Betty

I am an RN and I even have difficulty getting copies of my records. Like you I try to keep a copy of every blood sugar stick, pill given, to major surgical reports and consultations. When I tell the staff that I would like a " cc, " a carbon copy of the report sent to me they get weird, defensive, etc. Yes, we all know we have a right to the record, but what can we do to help the staff feel more comfortable about it. Do we have to pay to get copies? Thanks, Karyn E. , RN Founder / President Pancreatitis Association Intl. KarynWms@.../
