Sherri,

I don't know if " Mad Cow U.S.A. " was the first book of it's kind.

There are other books available on the topic:

1.. " The Trembling Mountain: A Personal Account of Kuru, Cannibals, and Mad

Cow Disease " by Kiltzman.

2. " Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won't Eat Meat " by

Lyman.

3. " Mad Cow Crisis: Health and The Public Good " by Ratzan.

4. " Prions: Novel Infectious Pathogens Causing Scrapie and

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease " by Stanley B. Prusiner and P. McKinley

Hope this helps........Suzanne

Suzanne & Sherri:

One book that has been forgotten here is Deadly Feasts by

. It is truly explosive ... as is Mad Cow, USA. They are both truly

eye-openers ... or " movers " as I refer to them. If people could only read

these 2 books ... we would have an overwhelming explosion of public and

medical awareness about CJD and the family of TSE's.

Thank you for the information Suzanne. I plan to go and buy every one of

those books. The more I learn about the disease, the more information I can

pass on to others!
