Guest guest
Hello, I have been on the old Atkins many years ago. The meat and grease got to me. Now, I want to start on it again. I need to lose as much as I can quickly. I am a terminal heart patient who has lived 3 years longer than my doctors predicted. My heart specialist told me if I lose some weight, I can prolong my life a little. He never expected me to live this long in the first place. So I thought...heck...give it a try.. who knows? I just ordered the new Atkins book from Amazon, a few weeks ago and have been reading it. It mentions the " Induction Diet " which was not in the first printing, I believe. I want to start right away. I have been overweight since I turned 12 yrs old. I lost down from 265 to 135 in 6 months, on amphetamines prescribed by a diet doctor. My first month, I lost 45 lbs!!! Yep, you read that right! I gradually, over a period of abt 8 years, gained it all back and more. Now, my heart condition prohibits ANY exercise at all. I have an aneurysm on a chamber of my heart and I cannot have any exertion. I cannot even lift my arms over my head or lift more than 2 lbs. So I have to do something which takes weight off from eating types of foods rather than rely on exercise. I have been reading your posts which are so informative. Sounds like a great group to me and I am so glad to be on this list. What I need, like all of you, is recipes to add variety to this woe. And it sounds like this is the place to come. Man, those root beer floats just blew my mind. LOL So I am 56 yrs old, weigh 330 lbs and I am 5 ft tall. A lot packed into a small area! Oh, BTW, what is " stacking " ? lyn mailto:meiwei@...
