Tina,

Sorry you had a rough night, are you taking vitamins, you may need more

potassium. not having enough and having too much can cause leg cramps. If

your just taking a reg vitamin I would try a potassium supplement. If your

unsure, call your Dr.

You know it is hard to say, potassium is a scary thing cause using to much or

too little is dangerous. I use Atkins vitamins. I use Dieters advantange

which gives you 3%, Basic #3 which is less than 1% and thats it, I don't seem

to have any problems. I know we get some through food and wish I could

remember where the web site was that told what foods we can eat to help get

more potassium. the reason it is only 3% is because that is all they are

allow to sell, legally, over the counter without a prescription, thats why I

almost always tell people that have questions to consult a Dr. My Mom has a

potassium defiecny and she had all kinds of troubles. It's not really one I

can tell some one to go get more cause having to much or too little can give

the same symptoms. You never really know. With atkins, cause the diet is a

duiretic (sp) it is most likely that your not getting enough. Hope this

helped!

Penny,

I was in Shopko last week and they had what they called Potassium in

the vitamins. When I looked, it said it only gives you 3% of your

daily needs. What one do you use? I don't have cramps yet, but I

take Prenatal vitamins because I nurse and it doesn't have potassium

on it. I should take Potassium & Calcium. Calcium, I know where to

get.

Hi Steph,

Thanks for the info. His GI did not want to put him on the Elecare yet,

since he was so young when this started and it is not approved for use in

children under the age of 1. If after our " trial " with Alimentum next

month, we still have to remain on the formula, I will ask again as he will

be six months then and maybe his GI will be more willing to try it. If not,

I will definitely change when he is a year. (but I am hoping and praying

that he will grow out of whatever he has and do fine when we switch) Someone

had posted the price of Elecare at $45 for a can that lasts 3 days, and I

get Neocate for $32 and lasts for 21/2 days. So at his age, I am not sure

there is as much of a price difference as there is when he gets older. But

I definitely would like to switch because of the constipation. Thanks again

for the info.

Elecare is not $45 a can. It comes out to $30.33 a can. A case of 6 comes

out to $182.00. It's much cheaper than Neocate and a ton cheaper than Juice

boxes.
