Guest guest
ANdrew: I have forwarded your letter to the list and have also approved your subscription. THis is a great group of people - all either with kids with EG/EE or having it themselves. Does anyone have any suggestions for ANdrew. BTW -have you seen Dr. Hugh Sampson in New York City at Mt. Sinai - he is an allergist with lots of EE/EG expereince. We drive Clayton up to see him from Cherry Hill, NJ. ( Herenstein) To: eosinophilic gastroenteritis-owner (AT) onelist (DOT) com I would like to be able to send and receive message on the eosinophilic gastroenteritis list. My 7 daughter was diagnosed a year ago with Eosinopilgastroenteritis and put on Chrmolin. She was better for a while but a few months ago started vomiting daily. We recently took her to Chicago (we live in NY) for a second opinion which confirmed the original diagnosis. My daughter has constant stomach pains and throws up daily. She has been allergic to milk products since birth. She has gone on various food jags through her life. At one point she would eat nothing but chicken and only drink ice tea. Now she barely will touch either. Over time she jagged on sweet potatoes, cabbage soup, and hamburgers. French fries have been a staple for several years. She often will eat a meat stew with potatoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One other interesting note. About eighteen months ago, before we knew she had EG, my daughter awoke with horrible stomach pains. At the hospital they quickly determined that she had pancreatitis. As a result she was NPO (no food allowed at all) for six weeks (she was fed intravenously). When she recovered we found that her eosinophil levels had fallen to normal levels. However, within six months they have bounced back and she has constant stomach pain and vomiting. Our GIs say that the two are unrelated but I have my suspicions. Anyone with relevant experience? My wife and I would love to correspond with parent with young children suffering from EG. My daughter is actually going in for a scoping later this week to determine whether she also has EE. I suspect she does. I can be contacted at andrewjh@.... >>

He started doing much better when we took him off all food and gave him Neocate 1+ through an ng tube. By doing this we were able to slowly introduce new foods and find the ones that were causing problems. This had worked well for us for over a year. His health greatly improved. Unfortunately, he is currently starting to have sypmtoms again. We are awaiting endoscopy results. He had one last Thursday. I have to wonder if I am missing something that he should not be eating. Don't let the docs overlook the food issue, it is an important one. I would second Sharon's suggestion that you see Hugh Sampson. Also, there are two GI's in Philadelphia who deal with this alot. Several people on this list see at St. s and speak highly of him. I take to see Liacouras at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and have been extremely happy with his treatment of .
