He might get a little cranky from it and sleepless nights, or he might get

really tired. But no long term effects from only a 3 week trial. I just

added up his weight in Kilo's and he is 27.27 kilo's. The recommended

therapeutic dosage for Eos's is 1-2 mg per Kilo. His max dosage should be

around 53-55 mg per day. You are safe on that dosage. Don't worry about it

too much.

Hope all goes well,

Three weeks isnt long... when we did prednisone, we did it for six to make

sure we had given it a chance. The recommended dose is 2mg/kg. Two of my

kids had negative skin testing but completely cleared up on prednisone.

Remove the prednisone and the eos/inflammation came back. Started elemental

formula and the eos cleared up again. Start adding foods and they came

back.

Have you tried FLOVENT yet?

Hi all,

I am a frequent reader and infrequent poster....

My sons problems seem minimal to what many of you

are experiencing and my heart goes out to all of

you.

My son (severe esophageal inflamation) is

starting his prednisone treatment next week.

We are trying to determine once and for all if

his probs are due to an immune reaction (allergies) or

something else. He really has no food allergy

symptoms whatsoever and has tested negative to all

allergy testing. He has also had several ph probes

which were both negative.

He is going to be taking 25 mg prednisone in a.m. and

again in p.m. for 3 weeks, then he is scheduled for

a scope/biopsy. is 7 years old and weighs 60

pounds. Does this sound similar to what some

of you went through? What should I expect as far as

side effects from the 3 week treatment?

Thanks for the help,
