Guest guest
Hi All, As we are waiting for 's doctor to call back and get us started on Prednisone, I have started to look into flonase. As some of you have said, since it is a topical steroid, not systemic, the side effects are minimal. I looked at the flonase web site, and it does not have any info on taking ir orally, (no surprise there!) so, how is it dosed, dispensed and taken? Would a 1 month trial be sufficient to rule in/out food allergies? This is really tough for us because does not have any symptoms other than the severe inflamtion of esophagus. This is a double edged sword, as in some ways it seems it would be much easier to try to figure this out if he did, on the other hand, at least he isn't suffering with pain, nausea, vomitting etc. that I know many of you suffer through. any info on flonase would be helpful. I mentioned it to the doc last visit and he had never heard of it being used this way. So maybe I can fill him in. Thanks,
Guest guest
With my beclomethasone diproprionate (another topical steroid), I had to go to a compounding pharmacist and they ordered the powder form of the drug. Then, they mixed it in with corn oil in a special machine, and gave me a bottle of the mixture. My doctor told me how to take it (teaspoon doses per day). Hope this helps, -Joy (Crohn's Disease, allergies, RSD & FMS; husband has EG, Asthma & allergies)
Guest guest
the Flonase is simply squirted into the back of the throat and swallowed (don't drink or eat anything for 30 minutes afterward) Amy Drawe has been giving it to her son Bryce for over a year now and it has worked wonders. She is out of town this week but she would be the " expert " on how she gives it, as it works for him! I'm going to do a group fax with the study on Flonase for IEE; do you have a fax number?
