Judy,

No, but there is a drug in Canada that you can get that seems to be really

effective for treating E.G.. It's call Budesonide.

[eosinophilic gastroenteritis] Brethine

Has anyone tried Brethine to control symptoms of EG?

Just a note on brethine,

I took brethine when I was pregnant with two of my

kids to stop contractions prematurely. It is a muscle

relaxant. Also used for asthma I believe.

Maybe it would help the pain of my endometriosis??? What do you all think? All

the inflammation?

BTW: Steph, I can hardly read you emails...........tiny tiny tiny font.

Yes, brethine is almost identical to terbutaline. They work on smooth muscles,

causing them to relax... thus the use for asthma (relaxing the muscles in the

chest or between the ribs), premature labor (relaxing the uterine muscles trying

to contract)... I suppose that's why it would work on cramping in the abdomen,

though it would only help muscular contractions and not those within the bowel.

Interesting concept, though, I'm glad it helps some with EG.
