Guest guest
Someone else with EG not on this list found that it helped relieve the cramping. See http://wedgeworld.com/eg.html. -Joy
Guest guest
Judy, No, but there is a drug in Canada that you can get that seems to be really effective for treating E.G.. It's call Budesonide. [eosinophilic gastroenteritis] Brethine Has anyone tried Brethine to control symptoms of EG? Judy EG
Guest guest
Just a note on brethine, I took brethine when I was pregnant with two of my kids to stop contractions prematurely. It is a muscle relaxant. Also used for asthma I believe.

Guest guest
Yes, brethine is almost identical to terbutaline. They work on smooth muscles, causing them to relax... thus the use for asthma (relaxing the muscles in the chest or between the ribs), premature labor (relaxing the uterine muscles trying to contract)... I suppose that's why it would work on cramping in the abdomen, though it would only help muscular contractions and not those within the bowel. Interesting concept, though, I'm glad it helps some with EG.
