Guest guest
Hi all- I know I've been quiet lately, but this struck a chord with me! Why are they still saying that there has only been one confirmed case of CJD being contracted from dura mater in the U.S. and that it was in 1987? 's case HAS been confirmed with 99% probability by both those who conducted the autopsy, the Colorado Health Department, and, as I've heard, the CDC! I don't get it! A few other notes...thank you all so much for your work on the ribbons! Our family was all together on Sunday and I told them about it. They were thrilled and they (of course) put me in charge of making them. Not that I mind! :-) didn't have a mean bone in her body. Even as she was invaded by this horrible monster, the only real changes we saw were that she was sad and scared. And her dog, Cammy, was always her baby and always had he by her side. As she got sick, she couldn't stand to have Cammy on her or near her. I think that she was so confused about what her body was doing and that she couldn't see, she was afraid that she would hurt Cammy. When she was in the Hospice, I asked her once if she was hurting. She hadn't been talking much at all, but she looked right at me and said " I would never hurt you. I love you! " . The hardest thing for her was knowing that people had to help her. Sorry this was so long - guess I need to stay in the loop more!
