To Whom it May Concern:

Please take me off the mailing list for CJD-Voice.

I am receiving these bits of conversation on my work PC, although some are

interesting

I do not have the time to read or interject.

Thank You.

Re: aspartame

Beverly -

My Mom has always had trouble with aspertame. It makes small sores on her

tongue and mouth. She watches her weight, but must stay away from packaged

" diet " foods because they always contain it. In the last five years, she

has read carefully every packaged food as manufacturers seem to like it

better than sugar and put it in all kinds of " normal " foods. I still

occasionally drink a diet pop, but am trying to ween myself off it

completely. I also drink no sweeteners in my coffee or tea, just plain old

sugar if I get the craving.

That's caffeine addiction. Caffiene addiction can cause headaches like you

wouldn't believe. Don't give up caffeine cold turkey.

Hi All,

Reading all your comments re: this artificial stuff, I wanted to add

my two cents worth. I used to drink diet Pepsi, 1 or 2 a day and eat

all the low calorie foods with aspartame in them. About eight years ago

I read an article about how aspartame contributed to short term memory

loss, confusion etc. I have a tendency to be a little/lot disorganized

at times, and felt I was a bit out of control in that area. I stopped

ingesting all foods with aspartame, including gum and breath mints. I

absolutely noticed a difference in my abilities to concentrate, my

short-term memory improved, and my confusion under stress got better

also. I do not to this day knowingly take in any aspartame. With my

mom's reaction of blisters in her mouth and on her lips and my mind's

reactions, it is definitely not something I would recommend for anyone.

It is difficult reading all the information shared on CJD Voice and

in other publications, then to eat anything not from our own gardens or

farms. A person could become paranoid to eat anything else not knowing

it's origin. I, for one, am attempting to be more discriminating in my

selections at the supermarket and to read labels. I also spend more time

reading articles published re: food contaminants. The death of my

father and the possibilities of it being transferred through foodstuffs

has made me even more aware and discerning in my choices of foods. The

other day I was offered some homemade elk jerky, I took it but didn't

eat it. I used to love elk meat, and grew up eating it . So sad!!!

Hope I haven't rambled on too much. Keep on keeping on!! I am

learning a lot.
