Alyssa was just put on flovent Wednesday, she hates the taste, so it is a

battle to get her to take it does any one have any ideas to help her with

this. How long does it take for the the effects of prednisone to get out of

the system? Alyssa has been off for 3 wks but she keeps getting infections.

this is the 2 on in 2 wks. she now has bronchitis, which could be from

getting sick and small amounts getting in her lungs. or not. what else can we

do to keep her from getting sick. She already doesn't go around school age

kids or kids from day care, no major kiddy places? is there any thing we can

do? thanks Tina

Hi

Dan has tried Flovent twice and it was not successful for him. I doubt we

will try it again unless we mix the the fluctazone with corn syrup or

something he can swallow that will coat the entire esophagus. The

elimination diet has to be the most difficult thing we had tried to date. I

would not recommend it. He has lost over 15 pounds in 4 weeks and has dark

circles under his eyes. It has made him sicker than when we did nothing.

I am waiting to hear back on the Latex allergy test and IgG antibody tests.

Whether or not his endoscopy his good or bad we are not continuing with the

elimination diet. If he tests positive for Latex we will remove everything

and also remove all the cross reactive foods.

The latex allergy makes sense for us since most of his attacks have happened

at restaurants that used latex gloves. He has also had problems with

bananas. He does not feel any better on this elimination diet and has

complained about the food still going down the same old slow craggy way.

Happy Holidays! julie

We tried Flovent twice and part of the problem is the administration of the

product. I also believe that it should be used after you eat or drink anything.

We are still deciding what to do. The last few months have been hard on Dan and

I want him to " chill out " abit and have whatever he wants to eat for a while.

Hi Carla,

I am so glad to read how well Dallas is doing. In our experience, Flovent does

not effect my daughter's energy level. She doesn't become any more active on

it, and only coughier off. What does make a difference is ventolin or albuterol

which makes her manic when she's on it and merely hyper when off.

All the best.

Jane

Traci is on Flovent and I don't notice any side effects. She is tall for her

age, no hair, good energy level.
