Guest guest
Dear nne, Not " all " of " they " say CJD is rare in New England - Dr. Alfred De, Assistant Commissioner of Communicable Disease Control at the following address: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Bureau of Communicable Disease Control, Massachusetts Centre for Disease Control, 10B South Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130, U.S.A. [Tel: 822-3700 ext 420] gave a public lecture in Boston in 1994 on the increase of CJD in the state of Massachusetts. He might be a worthwhile resource, as according to the academic who passed the information to me, Professor H. Hynes, Environmental Engineer at Boston University School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health Talbot 3C, 80 East Concord Street, Boston, MA, 02118-2394, U.S.A. Tel: 1- [boston] Tel: 1- [Amherst] he was concerned! I tried to contact him for quite a while, but eventually gave up because I wanted to move on from the Pat Hynes scene [nothing against her or due to her] which had become a part of my life that I wanted to forget! In a way, what I'm saying is try to get him first, and if unsuccessful try Pat Hynes without mentioning my name. Pat knows all about CJD, not from any personal experience, but from my publications during the time when we shared mutual friends. Hope this helps, best wishes etc., Lynette.
