Guest guest
Does anyone have any input that is insured through govt civil service? the navy's EFM Program just gave us a category I (four kids now GT fed, one of them also on TPN and Mom GT) which does nothing to help us out. My husband really wants to just get out now and take a well paying civil service job. I am concerned about them paying for 4 Zevex pumps, the bags, the Neocate and the over 100,000 a year for TPN. The insurance costs for us can easily top half a million a year. WE make too much for SSI and i have yet to get any info on the Virginia Technology ASsisted children program, to say nothing of getting help for my feeding supplies. We need to make a decision soon. He is supposed to officially agree to resign his comission BEFORE he looks for a job (though he is certain the job is there anyway).. -- Idiopathic Eosinophilic esophagitis; Mom to 15, IEE, NIssen/GT; Ken,11, IEE; Korey,7, IEE (NG); Kody, 4, IEE/CIPO. Guest guest
Dear : I don't know the answer and hate to even bring this up, but I think, and I stress I think, that some insurance policies have a lifetime benefits cap. The only reason I mention it is if the military insurance does not, you may want to find out about other insurance. Are the kids eligible for SSI disability? I know they toughened up the requirements recently, but it might be worth try. Most lawyers will handle that on a contingency basis, so other than costs, which are pretty minimal in an SSD case, you don't have much risk. Your odds are much, much better w/a lawyer than without. Might be worth a try, but again, a couple of years ago they made it much harder for childen to get. You might be eligible too. Pete
