Guest guest
Phyllis -- Kody was 3 when we went to night time TPN. He was potty trained then, but with 1750cc going in overnight, we had to backtrack and re-train him to go in a diaper overnight. Now we use chux on the bed and he has to be changed 6-7 times a night. Also, when he is having psuedo-obstructive crises, sometimes he gets liquid stool he can't control (not much, but he'd rather not get that on underwear).. and we let (encourage) him to wear pull-ups on those days. It hasn't been a self esteem issue at all yet (he is 4-1/2 now). He accepts it all as part of his disease process and his brothers obviously do not tease him about it. We'll see what happens at school this year, but he is in spec ed for speech so I dont think that will be a problem. This is something I've been thinking about too, but can't afford to look that far ahead with him to wonder about it. I think Stacey wore pull-ups for a long time too? I remember reading something about this months ago.. and it was only as she became a teen that she started getting up throughout the night. steph [eosinophilic gastroenteritis] Hi everyone >>Date: Mon, 2 Aug 1999 08:44:22 -0400 >> >>Hope your summers are going well.
