Thanks for the reminder about the holiday ideas! I think I'll make the

peanut butter carmels!

Also...where could I find the recipe for the honey suckers, that was

mentioned on that same web page?

She mentioned how she altered the honey suckers recipes, but didn't

give the basic recipe. I feel pretty sure I've seen that recipe

somewhere before..but am not sure where. I didn't find it on the

pecanbread recipe page under candy or anything else. Any clues as to

where it might be?

Thanks!

Somewhere there is recipe for SCD marshmallows. If you can use nuts, make balls

of nut

butter and roll them in a little honey and then in coconut (unseetened) You can

make your

own trail mix and put it in small baggies. There is a nice recipe for nit

brittle in BTVC.

You can roast almonds and microwave them with some ground spices like cinnamom,

nutmeg and cloves. I make truffles in the food cone of my juicer using dates and

pecans

and rolling the paste into small balls. There is a recipe for candy apples in

BTVC.

Hi belatimer,

You can find recipes for some Halloween treats at

http://pecanbread.com/recipes.html under " Candy "

I 've made the marshmallow recipe and peanut butter caramels that are there.

The picture of the marshmallows is with the almond flour but I also rolled

the marshmallows in squash flour and carrot flour (just didn't get a picture

of them - they were eaten too quickly). I made the carrot and squash flour

by first cooking the carrot and squash and then drying it in the dehydrator

in a thin layer which dehydrates faster. Then grind it. You may also be

able to dehydrate it in a low oven (175°-200°F).

Also for Halloween I have made carrot chips (same page as above but under

the " Vegetable " section) and put them in ziplock baggies decorated with

halloween stickers.

I think one year I also made cupcakes with one of the peanut butter cake

recipes and frosted them with orange frosting and used raisins for the eyes,

nose and mouth. I flattened the raisins and cut them to the correct shape.
